Not many people know that canvas literally means ‘made from cannabis.’
The sails that brought the pilgrims to the shores of North America were all made from hemp-canvas, and all the ropes and rigging of the ships were made of hemp as well.Those sails were then reused to cover the Conestoga wagons that then brought those settlers West.
So yes, cannabis is at least partly responsible of the invasion of Westerners – which just further shows how careful we must be in our use of this amazing plant!
